Jofra Archer has been named to the England Test squad for the second match of the ongoing five-Test series against India.
Archer, aged 30, is set to rejoin the Test team for the first time since February 2021. He is expected to compete for a spot in the starting eleven when the second Test begins at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 2. This marks a significant moment in his career as he aims to add to his current tally of 13 Test caps.
The fast bowler recently participated in red-ball cricket during the County Championship for Sussex against Durham. His previous Test appearance for England was also against India in 2021. Subsequently, he faced a series of injuries, including a back stress fracture, which sidelined him intermittently until 2024. He made his return to white-ball cricket in May of the previous year.
The remainder of the England squad remains unchanged from the first Test in Leeds, where the hosts secured a five-wicket victory.
The remaining three Tests of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 series will be held at Lord's (July 10-14), Old Trafford in Manchester (July 23-27), and The Oval (July 31-August 4).

Ben Stokes (C), Jofra Archer, Shoaib Bashir, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Cook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Josh Tongue, Chris Woakes.
