R. B. ROGERS

Farmer and cattle feeder, section 14, post office Lathrop, is a native of Knoxville, Claiborne County, Tennessee, and was born on the 29th day of October, 1832.  When ten years of age he, with his parents, moved to Platte County, Missouri, in 1842, and remained there till 1848, when he came to Clinton County, settling in section 25.  Here he assisted on the farm till about 1868.  When sixteen years of age he had begun speculating on his own account, and before becoming of age he done much business in this line, principally in the northern counties of Missouri.  In 1861, he became a member of an independent cavalry company.  In 1862, engaged in the cattle trade quite extensively. During the rebellion he was an active politician, being a staunch Republican.  He is a good illustration of what economy and perseverance can accomplish; having began in life with small means, and having been prudent in his expenditures, he richly merits the su! ccess which has attended his career.  He found a wife in the person of miss Nanna Allnut, whom he married in October, 1872.  Their family consists of six children:  Minnie, Daisy, Maggie, Richard, Ellen and Willard.

Note:  The mention of him being a native of Knoxville, Claiborne County, Tennessee is an obvious error.  Knoxville is not in Claiborne Co, but we know that the family did live in Claiborne Co.

Jerry;

Daniel Allnut is the father of Emaline and Virginia W. but I don't have Nanna listed as a child. I also have the marriages as you have listed but not Nanna.

Daniel is listed as being born in North Carolina, b. abt. 1794 and his wife Huldah, b. Abt. 1809 is from Kentucky. No maiden name known at this time. I left my sources for this information at home in Nevada when we came to Turkey. I can give you more information later when we return home in April.

Children are:

Ben F. b. abt 1835
Huam B. abt 1839
Emaline Catherine b. June 1841
Virginia W. b. abt. 1843
Daniel S. b. abt 1844
Margaret A. b. abt 1847
Nancy b. abt 1848
Joseph W. b. abt 1853

All my dates are from estimates on the census I believe.

If you have wedding dates let me know. That's all I have on the Allnuts and I can't find anything on the internet.
