Hi Jerry,
I have a few additions/corrections for the Benjamin Rogers "The Immigrant" page of the website that concerns Pleasant M. ROGERS, my husband's 2nd great grandfather.

He married Sarah Ann BEELER on 12 April 1831 in Claiborne Co., Tenn. No one in our family, that I know of, has ever heard of Pleasant being married before that.

I do know that p.3051 of the Dallas/Lorens book says that Anna Hayrus is Pleasant's wife, but I think that is a mistake. Annie HAYNES was married to his brother Jessie LaFayette Rogers.

Pleasant M. was my husband's 2nd great grandfather. We have researched him for over 10 years and have all kinds of data. He was born in 1809 Claiborne Co. and married there in 1831 to Sarah Ann BEELER. I think you are correct about her parents.

Pleasant M. was a Methodist minister and Neb. State Representative. Pleasant died in Pawnee Co., Neb. in 1874 and is buried in the Rogers Cem. out in the country. He and Sarah had 7 children: Harvey R. b1832 Claiborne Co., Marquis de Lafayette (my husband's great grandfather) b1833 Anderson Co., Lewis Marshall b1837, Sarah Jane b1838, Mary Emily "Polly" b1840, Pleasant David b1844, and Anna Powell b1848.

The family left Anderson Co. for Fremont Co., Iowa in 1854. In 1855, they moved to St. Derron, Richardson Co., Neb. The next year they settled in Pawnee co. I have land records, censeses, county histories, cem. records, etc.

I recently was involved in a discussion with Jerry regarding Pleasant M Rogers. While reading the Rev. War Pension Application for my 5XGreatGrandfather, Augustus Wilson ,Anderson CO TN. I came upon a statement that Pleasant had made along with Wm Sharp, on behalf of Augustus Wilson......dated 27 January 1848.

" Me Pleasant M Rogers a clergyman residing in the county of Anderson and State of Tennesse and Willaim Sharp residing in the state an a county officer hair do somely certify that we are well aquainted with Augustus Wilson who has remembered and received to the above statement that we believe him to be eighty nine years of age that he is respected and believed in the neighborhod where he resides to have been a soldier in the Revoltuion and Indian War and that we concur in that opinion. "

This places Pleasant M Rogers in Anderson CO TN in 1848. We know that Pleasant M Rogers married Sarah Beeler (b. Oct 11 1808. in TN) married April 12 1831. According to my data she is the daughter to Peter Beeler and Barbara Petree. If my information is correct: Sarah was a sister to Winnie Beeler that married Stephen Cawood. So she would have been an Aunt to Barbara B and Annie Cawood wives of Hugh Lawson White Rogers and Henderson Rogers, sons of Major David. Pleasant M Rogers was their brother and also a son of Maj David.

Anderson CO TN: In the 1850 census 16th Subdivision Roll 869 Page 60. He is listed as a farmer - All of this family was born in TN:

Pleasant M Rogers age 41
Sarah wife age 42
Marquis De Layfette 16 farmer
Harvey 18 farmer
Lewis 13
Sarah Jane 11
Polly 9
David 6
Anna 2

Further data I found online shows that by 1856 Pleasant had left Tn and is listed in Pawnee County, Nebraska
