Jerry,

I don't believe it! I have been searching for a connection to this guy for over two years! I only have one problem - I don't know who his parents were. I only recently found out his wife's maiden name. I know he had two sons; Charles E. and Dr. William Rogers. If you could pass me along to someone who could help me verify whether your guy and my guy are the same, I would greatly, greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Suzanne Rogers

Jerry

Believe me you did not bother me with this info. I am sorry if I gave you the impression that I was not interested because that could not be farther from the truth. You are the first real lead that I have come across in over 2 years. I sincerely hope that I can find the proof that connects me to your family because that would save me a LOT of searching.

In your first note you said that John Rogers died before 1923. How did you know that? Is there some record I can look up with the info on it? I am trying to find out where and when he died so that I can order a death certificate. That should tell me his father's name and let me know whether I connect with your family. Any info is greatly appreciated.

FYI - I did want to make a small correction to your list you sent me with all of the family connections on it. I actually married into the Rogers family-my maiden name is Ridgely. My husband's name is James Lee Rogers. His father (coincidentally) is Jerry Lee Rogers (married Vicki Stowell) whose father was Verdi Paul Rogers (married Jenny Hester Jordan) whose father was Charles Rogers (married Eva L. Crabb) whose father was John Rogers (married Mary Kincaid). If any of this helps me connect to any info you have, please let me know.

Thank you again.

Cousins, Ray has done some great work for a new member to our list of cousins .........Suzanne Rogers who is descended from Benjamin (the Immigrant), John (the Powder Maker), Major David, Isaac Newton, John Franklin Rogers. Her email address is:

Sbronwyn@aol.com

I'll send you more on that later, but I thought this might have wider interest for not only the Maj David descendants, but also the Rev. Dr. William descendants............

Ray wrote: Jerry, The following patrons also moved to Clinton Co. (Missouri) from Claiborne Co. (Tennessee)

R. B. Rogers 1846
W. M. Rogers 1846
A. G. Rogers 1866
D. F. Rogers 1846
H. L. F. Rogers 1856
W. C. Maupin 1855 from Campbell Co., TN

Ray,

Great work as always. Here is who I believe these folks are:

R. B. Rogers 1846 = Reuben Brawley Rogers b. 29 October 1832 (My records say Clinton, Henry County, Missouri, but I have my doubts. That is fairly early for a Missouri birth. I suspect he was born in Claiborne County, Tennessee.) He was the son of Lewis Jackson Rogers b. 24 Oct 1803 in Claiborne County (son of Rev. Dr. William Rogers b. 1777). Note that Lewis Jackson also went to Clinton County, Missouri where he died in 1901.

W. M. Rogers 1846 = William Marion Rogers b. 24 Oct 1803 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. He was the 2nd son of Lewis Jackson Rogers. He married Eunice Donal Piercy.

A. G. Rogers 1866 = Albert G. Rogers, b. 10 Mar 1845 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. He was the son of Hugh Lawson White Rogers b. 22 February 1822 in Claiborne County (son of Major David Rogers b. 1779). Albert G. married Jennie Estes 25 Mar 1869 in Clinton County, Missouri.

D. F. Rogers 1846 = David Franklin Rogers, b. 21 November 1830 (probably in Claiborne County, Tennessee. He was the 4th son of Lewis Jackson Rogers. He married Mary Elizabeth Stockton. He died 26 January 1908.......place unknown (to me). There was also a (Doc) David Franklin (1813-1893) who was a son of Major David Rogers, but I believe he never left the Claiborne County area.............someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

H. L. F. Rogers 1856 = I cannot account for the "F." Hugh Lawson White Rogers was born in Claiborne County, Tennessee 22 February 1822 and died in Clinton County 27 February 1895. He married Barbara Cawood who was born in Tennessee 05 February 1825 and died in Clinton County, Missouri 09 September 1901. They were the parents of A. G. Rogers above.

W. C. Maupin 1855 from Campbell County, Tennessee. I don't have anything on W. C. Maupin, but I do have David Canada Maupin b. 1 Nov 1841 and d. Oct 1933. He married Mary Ann Rogers, b. 1 September 1846 and d. 22 Dec 1925. She was the daughter of French Haggard Rogers (1820-1908) and Emily Beeler (1828-1910). French Haggard was the son of William David Rogers b. 1799 and the grandson of Rev. Dr. William Rogers, b. 1777.

I hope that all of you who are descended from Major David or Preacher Bill.........I mean Rev. Dr. William will take a close look at this and tell me if you think I have made a "wrong assumption". If anyone can tell us who W. C. Maupin is or how he might be related, we'll be most thankful. Thanks for your help.

Jerry
