From the Caldwell Co Web Site I found the following information:

Descriptive Roll of Captain G. W. Murphy Co E of 6th Regiment Cavalry, MO State Militia, called into service by Governor H. R. Gamble, in accordance with the terms of General Orders No. 96, War Department, series 1861, which said Company was mustered in at Cameron, State of Missouri, the
