Hello, I am very glad that I was put Indiana touch with this list. It is the best one for the Rogers family from Claiborne Co. My ggrandfather was Madison M Rogers b. 3 May 1819 Claiborne County, Tennessee d.27 Feb 1901. He married Mary White (m. 19 Nov 1846) who was b. 11 Sep 1828 d. 18 Aug 1895. I was told he was a son of John (the powdermaker). However he was not included Indiana the arrangements made for the minor children at John's death Indiana 1822. I can't believe he would be just left out. It has also been suggested that he might be the son of James Rogers listed Indiana the census of 1840. Whoever the father, he was deceased by the time of the 1850 census. A woman named Sarah was 76 and living with Madison and family. If anyone knows anything about Madison and Mary, I would be most grateful for any information they might add. Their children were:
Felix G 1848-1917 m. Julia Yoakum, m. Mary(Polly)Ann Unknown
Mary F1850-1878, m. H. Franklin Sharp
Sarah Lucinda 1852-1883, m. Isaac Marshall Beeler
Joseph Franklin 1854-1940 (Joseph is my grandfather. He left TN sometime after the 1870 census and ended up Indiana Gainesville, Cooke Co, TX and married Rachel Tennesse Whaley Hobbs a widow from Rhea County, Tennessee Indiana 1878 )
Olivia "Ollie"White 1856-1916, m.Isaac Marshall Beeler
James H 1858-1866,
John 1859, There is a John A listed with Mattison (Madison) on the 1900 census. This John is born Indiana Va and I think he is the son-Indiana-law. Why move to VA to have that child? He is listed Indiana that manner and then it is crossed out. Then his wife is listed as daughter-Indiana-law but I believe that she is the 11th child of Madison and Mary. Anna Belle married a Rogers and moved to Ark. John b. 1859 there maybe a son with this name also but I haven't found anything about him. .
Margaret V. 1861 d.1887 m. John A. Rogers of VA
Nancy E 25 Dec 1962- d. 26 Jan 1880
Michael A 13 Dec 1866 d. 2 Apr 1884
Anna Belle b 1 Mar 1869 m. John A. Rogers of VA after her sister Margaret V. died.
Hettie 22 Jul 1873 d. same date
Thank you for reading all this. I hope it is not too confused to understand.
I would appreciate a copy of the 30 page spread sheet written of by Jerry.

I have the will of Madison M Rogers dated June 16, 1896 but I still don't know who his father is. But it answered a lot of the questions I had. I don't believe Madison had a son named John. I think his two daughters married John A. Rogers from Va. Margaret V died after having two boys with him. (Hugh M and Moss M) Anna (Annie) Belle then married John the same year her sister died and had one daughter with him.
I have the will of Henderson Rogers dated the 18th day of March 1892 with a codical 15th of July 1892. (I had his death date as being 28 Jun 1892. Something is wrong there) He left his land to DC and SH with money provisions for the other children. He made provisions for Lewis Moon Rogers who was listed as "idiot" on the 1870 census. I will be glad to copy the will and e-mail to this group or if only a few are interested I will send copies snail mail. I have the will of eldest son of Madison, Felix G. dated 29 Jan 1917 so anyone interested Indiana that let me know.
