Early 1700 & 1800s, Old Pa. wagon roads due south criss-crossed through the state of VA. from upper New England carrying thousands of migrants. Great road split about present day Roanoke. One road continued down into TN. toward GA. and other road due south into Rowan County, NC. toward SC. The road from Roanoke to Rowan County was the most heavily traveled road in the country. It was both a southerly route and a westward route from eastern NC moving west. To the left are links to many pictures and web pages that may give you some history of where your kin traveled or lived.
