Well my mom & I went on quite the adventure today trying to find Rial.
Yesterday my family and I found Pleasant Hope cemetery and did not find him there. We went to Schofield and of course saw the family graves there. We decided to just drive the back roads for awhile and came upon Red Top Church. I had not been able to find where it was on the internet so I prayed God would help us find it and He did :) Anyways Rial was not at that cemetary either.
I searched for hours last night and finally came across a website for the Austin family and found Rial there. His second wife was an Austin. It was wonderful to find that the listed him as being buried in the New Life Cemetary near Pleasant Hope. I put in the GPS coordinates and off we went. When we got there we discovered the cemetary to be off the road a ways and no trespassing signs everywhere. I went to a farmers house right next to it and they weren't there, so we just decided to go across their fields and hopefully not get in trouble. And we were so excited to find Rial's Grave :)
I have attached the photo. The cemetery is extremely small and most of the headstones are unreadable but his is in perfect shape. I sure wish there was a picture of him somewhere. I am going to keep searching the internet to try and find one.
Happy New Year,
Ruth
Born in TN. He was married in Greasy Creek, Dallas Co, MO in about 1845. His children starting with William C. (1853) were born in AR, son George W. was born in AR in 1859, and Milton G. was also born there in 1862. About 1862, his first wife Elizabeth died and may have been what caused the family to head back to SW MO at about this time.
He had land transactions in Searcy Co, AR on 15 Nov 1854.

In 1865 he married Mary Austin in SW MO and their son Absalom C. was born in 1866 was born in MO. However, it appears the family returned to AR for a short time as their son James S. was born there in 1867. The remainder of the children starting with Perry F. (b. 1869) were born in MO. In 1880, the family was living in Polk Co, MO.
Mark Barnett provided information that "a" Rial in Searcy Co, AR. Cannot imagine that there were more than one Rial at this time.

Subject: 1880 Dallas Co., MO census
I went to the library here in Chattanooga yesterday to look for some people who were living in Dallas Co. on the 1870 census in the Jackson Township. The first person I was interested in was family #108 Valentine Davis, and then on the next page of the microfilm it jumps to family #130. Is this a defective roll or are the pages missing? The people I need are, I suspect, among the missing:
Valentine Davis Md. Nancy J. Austin
Cenath Austin
Elijah Austin Md. Rhoda Randles
Rial Barnett Md. Mary A. Austin
James M. Stever Md. Martha Clarissa Austin
Nathaniel Austin Md. Harriet L. Maddux
I did find one brother Daniel a page or so after the census picked up again. Thanks for your help.

Hello John -
I find Valentine Davis and wife Nancy J. as household #106-107 in my 1880 census book.
I could not find James Stever, Rial Barnett, Nathaniel Austin and Cenath Austin.
There is an Elijah Austin (44, NC) in Benton Township but his wife is listed as Louisa (39, Mo). If you want this Elijah Austin, just let me know.
