I just found my connection to this Solomon Lewis this week and it came through tracing the roots of the Solomon Lewis Jr. who disappeared into Missouri in 1840 (actually 1834/5). I am trying to absorb as much of these postings as I can. Meanwhile here is what I have on the descendants of the Solomon Lewis who moved to Missouri. I also have info that extends into living relatives but I reserve that for distant relatives only!

Notes for JAMES A. LEWIS:
James A. Lewis appears to be listed in the 1840 Livingston County, Grand River Township, Missouri census. The next head of household listed was Solomon. James apparently (from other census assumptions) had a brother named Solomon, but the head of household and only female seem to have been 40-50 years old while brother Solomon would have been about 28. Perhaps this Solomon was their father -- or an uncle of James A.?

Death information posted is from a LDS file found at Family Search.

Notes for TALITHA:
1870 Missouri Census of Morris Township, Carroll County shows Tabitha as head of household with another family Evan Owen (age 27), Aramenta (14), Mary (27?), Cyrus (11), Lavinia (9), and Talitha (?). It would appear that this is the family of Tabitha's daughter Mary.

Stafford Courier, 9-21-1916, pg. 8:
William Huston Lewis passed away at his home just west of the city on Wednesday morning, Sept., 20, 1916, death being due to kidney trouble. He was born Nov. 4, 1834, and at the time of his death was, 81 years, 10 months, and 16 days of age. His wife preceeded him in death, but he leaves his children and a host of friends to mourn his death. It is expected that the funeral will be held at the home this afternoon (Thursday) unless some other arrangements have to be made later. Interment will be at the Stafford Cemetery.

Stafford County Republican, Sept. 28, 1916, pg.5:
William Houston Lewis was born November 4th, 1834 in Tennessee and died in Stafford, Kansas September 19th, 1916, aged 81 years, 10 months, and 15 days. When he was one year of age his parents moved to Carroll County, Missouri where he grew to manhood. On February 21st, 1861 he was married to Hannah May Plaster. For 52 years these two walked down the way of life hand in hand and then she "was not for God took her." Since that time the one who remained has been lonely and several times expressed his willingness to go.
There were born to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis eleven children, eight of whom are living at the present time, and are left to mourn the loos of a father. The one daughter lives in California and could not be present at the funeral.
The family moved in 1873 to Marshall County, Kansas. Later they lived two years in Decatur County and two years in the Indian Territory. they again moved back to Kansas spending some time in Meade County, some time in Grant County, and the remaining days in Stafford.
Mr. Lewis will be remembered for his good life, his kindly disposition, and his devotion to his family. He was an honorable, upright citizen and always tried to do what was right.
His son Isaac and daughter-in-law made for him a real home in the last days. Everything was done for him that could be thought of to make him comfortable and happy. He often said he was happy.
He asked that his funeral be as much like that of his former life's companion as possible and that he be laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery not far from home.
Funeral services were conducted last Thursday afternoon at the home by Rev. Fisher of the M.E. Church. Interment was at the Stafford cemetery.

Notes for HANNAH MARY PLASTER:
Either Laura or Amanda do not belong to this family if there were 11 children and two girls. According to LDS Amanda was on the 1880 Ford Co Ks census, however Laura was mentioned by a family member. Perhaps there were 12 children but one was stillborn and not counted in the total?

Stafford Courier, December 4, 1913, pg. 1:
Mrs. W. H. Lewis died Monday afternoon, December 1, 1913, very suddenly at the family home on West Broadway, this city. She was stricken about 4:30 P.M., and although medical assistance was summoned at once it was to no avail and the end came in just a little more than an hour afterward. Mrs. Lewis, with her husband and three sons, had lived in Stafford for a number of years, and she enjoyed the highest esteem of all who knew her.
Hannah May Plaster was born in Clark County, Illinois, April 4, 1843. The family came to Carroll County, Missouri, in 1856, and it was here she married William Huston Lewis on February 21st, 1861. In 1872 they moved to Marshall County, Kansas. Two years later they moved to Decatur County, remaining two years, when they moved to Indian Territory. After a residence here of about two years, in 1876-1878, they returned to Kansas, settling in Meade County, where they remained until 1902. Six years were then spent in Grant County, when the family home was moved to Stafford and still remains.
Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis, nine sons and two daughters. Two sons and one daughter have gone on before to the other world, the others, with the aged husband survive. The living Daughter, Charlotte, resides in California. James, Jefferson, and John live in Reno County, Frank in Grant County, Albert, William, and Isaac made their home with their parents. The father is nearly 80 years of age.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 1:30 at the home, conducted by Rev. E.F. Buck, pastor of the M.E. Church, after which the body was buried in the local cemetery.

Stafford County Republican, December 4, 1913, Pg. 3:
Mrs. Wm. Lewis died at the family home on West Broadway Monday evening of this week at 5:55 o'clock, of heart failure. She was taken suddenly ill at 4:30 and though medical attention was summoned immediately, it was of no avail. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon by Rev. E.F. Buck of that church.
Hannah Mary Plaster was born in Clark County, Illinois. Moved with her parents to Carroll County, Mo., in 1856, and here she was married to William Huston Lewis on Feb., 21st, 1861. Eleven children were born to this union, eight of whom survive her.
They came to Kansas in 1873, settling in Marshall County, resided in Decatur County until 1875-76, moved to Indian Territory in the latter year, came back to Meade County in 1878 and resided there until 1902 when they moved to Grant County where they lived for six years. They have lived in Stafford County for the past five years. The husband who is nearly 80 years of age survives her together with the sons, Albert, William, and Isaac of Stafford, Frank of Grant County, James, Jefferson, and John of Reno County, and the daughter, Charlotte, who lives in California. All were present for the funeral except the daughter who was unable to get here.
The Republican wishes to join with other friends of the family in expressing sympathy to them at this time.
